**City Council Vacancy: Applications Now Open**

The City of New Plymouth is seeking qualified candidates to fill a vacancy on the City Council. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future of our community and help shape local policies and decisions. The selected candidate will serve the remainder of the term, which expires on December 31, 2027.

City Council members play a vital role in representing the interests of residents, participating in decision-making processes, and working collaboratively with other city officials. To apply for the vacant City Council position, interested individuals must submit a completed application form and any other relevant supporting documents by June 17th, 2024.

The City of New Plymouth City Council acts as the legislative branch of our government, as well as its policy-making body. The Council looks to the city's goals, major projects and infrastructure improvements ranging from community growth to land use to finances and strategic planning. The Council's goal is to do the very best to represent their constituents after they've seen to the needs of the city as a whole. New Plymouth City Council meets every 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 6:00 PM in the New Plymouth City Hall.
